Pastor Jeffery Hunt Senior is the fourth child and the third son born to the union of the late Deacon William A. Hunt Sr. and Jurisdictional Supervisor R. L. Hunt. He is a third generation COGIC and his family can trace its heritage back to the beginning of the church here in the state of California.
Pastor Hunt was born in the city of Bakersfield, California, but grew up in the city of Sacramento from the age of 7. He graduated from local schools here in the city and achieved an AA degree in Liberal Arts from American River Junior College.
But greater than all of this is his relationship with the Lord. He was saved during a summer revival at Nash Temple COGIC in his early teenage years, and has worked at numerous positions within the church.
Pastor Hunt was a founding member and grew to become the assistant pastor at North Highlands Community COGIC under the leadership of its current pastor Jurisdictional Prelate, Bishop A. Galbraith, and in December 2002 the Lord allowed and divinely appointed Pastor Hunt to establish God's Grace COGIC which began right out of his home.
He has held numerous positions in the local, district, jurisdictional and national work, but no greater job has he had, then to Pastor this growing church. Pastor Hunt is the husband of one wife, Pamela Tevis-Hunt and the father of three children, Jennifer, Jessica, and Jeffery Jr.
Pastor Hunt truly believes that God is a "God of mercy and it is by his grace we are here". He is a saved and sanctified and Holy Ghost filled believer, who believes that we must serve the Lord with gladness and with all of our full ability, for truly the Lord is great, and greatly to be praised!
Evangelist Pamela Hunt was one of six children born to loving parents, Superintendent Oliver and Missionary Annie Pearl Tevis. From the start, Pamela was destined for greatness in a life of prayer and music. At a very early age, she exemplified a praying spirit and the desire to play the piano.
Once while her parents went away on a trip, Pamela was left with her godmother. Every night, she prayed for her parents to have a safe trip and for the Lord to bless her entire family. At the age of five, Pamela was singing in the children's church choir, leading songs, and eventually, playing the piano for them. Once she was asked by an adult admirer if she wanted to sing on the Ed Sullivan Show. Pamela's parents must not have consented because she never heard another word about it.
Since that time, Pamela has played piano and organ for many choirs and groups, she has been faithful in her local congregation. Pamela has ministered with the local, district, state, and international church choirs. She also sang and recorded with The Sacramento Fellowship Choir, a community choir who toured the US, singing the praises of God in many churches and on states including, Branson, Missouri and Knox Berry Farms. She also recorded with other local artist from Sacramento to the Bay Area.
First Lady Pamela Hunt has passion for the youth. She desires to see them reach their potential in life and in God. She graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a BA in Child Development and recently completed her Master's Degree in Counseling.
Today, Pamela is the First Lady of God's Grace COGIC. Pamela serves as the Co-minister of music with her son Jeffery Jr. Her two daughters Jennifer and Jessica also work in the local church. Together, Pamela and her children make up a dynamic praise team. Pamela is also the director of the women's ministry at God's Grace and director of the women's chorus of Northern California First Jurisdiction. Currently, Pamela is working with producer Nehemiah Johnson (of Richmond, CA) to complete her first solo album project to be released in summer 2010.
